ZT-800U CCD Barcode Scanner Manual

Well, we use this at my workplace and it was impossible for me to track down the company's information, manual for the scanner, etc.

To make this device work just print this out, scan in the order on which they appear and that's it, it's plug and play, you shouldn't need any drivers (I've only tried XP and Vista).
Thanks to Nathan for creating that image.

Good luck.

Thank you for this! I've been looking for the instructions for a while without hope.
The gun was adding an extra leading zero, making inventorying a lot harder than necessary. Now I can zap everything into my POS in one shot. Thanks again!

Still having trouble with this thing. Where did you find those barcodes to configure it?

Help! The wires came loose from the chipboard (contained within the inline plastic capsule on the USB cable). Can you post the proper re-wiring? Go to "http://www.poobah.com/pictures/CCDchipwires.jpg" to view. The red, white and green wires have come loose from the left side...and I don't want to randomly solder them back in place! TIA to anyone who can help!

I've been googling this for weeks and haven't found the instructions on how to operate this barcode scanner. I'm running on XP. The scanner has a button underneath the head and a red diode on the top. I scanned the six barcodes you displayed by plugging in the scanner into a free USB port, then placed the scan head that emits a bright red light created by four diodes inside the head over each of the 6 bar codes. Nothing happens from what I can observe. Then I place the scanner head on a barcode printe on the cover of a book. The scanner beeps and the red light on top turns green. What should happen next? I previously placed a cursor on a Notepad window and nothing displays in the window. Am I suppose to get some sort of output? I pressed the button on the scanner several times and nothing happens. I'm clueless as to how to get this thing going. Any help will be appreciated.

if you have the printed Manuel could you scan it and post the whole thing somewhere like on your myspace or something? that would be awesome, because i need a different programming than the one you have posted.

THANK YOU SO MUCH... MAY GOD BLESS YOU!

This is awesome - thanks!

However, my issue is that with that setup it adds a carriage return suffix to the end of the scanned barcode. How can I remove that? Which of those barcodes in your sheet is the one that configures the suffix?

HI, I used this scanner set up, and it works. But I need to use them in bar codes that have 18 characters. Do you know what I can do to add this characters?

I wasn't able to get this to work. I reset to factory default and used the manual to find codes to:

1. Start Configuration
2. Choose USB Mode on the second page.
3. End Configuration

After that I restarted my computer and it worked. I think it's interesting that it only worked after the restart though, so maybe try that after doing the solution shown here.

Hey guys, sorry I just realized this had a bunch of comments... I don't have the manual anymore, and this was the configuration I used...

If I get my hands on the manual again in the future I will scan and post the whole thing.

Tried programming, but no luck. I have the issue that after you scan a barcode, I need it to return to the next line, but it says on the same line. Any ideas? thanks.

I have a ZT800 barcode scanner and cannot get the 1st digit or the last digit to appear when I scan a UPC code. I need to be able to do this. Do you have the codes to program the scanner to read the 1st and last digit?

This worked for my ZT800U with a PC (running Windows 7, 64bit)

My only tweaks were:
(1) restart PC fresh with USB barcode scanner plugged in to allow it to attempt fresh search for drivers.
(2)Save David's image as a JPG and enlarge to fill a 8.5x11" paper to print.
(3)Scan each of the 6 barcodes one at a time in sequence.
(4)Reboot PC again... and it worked.

Rotsa ruck!
